This visually-pleasing informative documentary effectively asks and answer the question, ‘Are young people being taught to think critically or are they just being told what to think?’ Although the particular application is the school classroom, the issues covered apply more widely to our secular society, especially the media. Produced by the UK-based organisation Truth in Science, it involves some ‘role play’ in a class-room setting as students engage with the material being covered and it features interviews with five PhD scientists. As one of them sates, “Critical thinking in the science classroom is imperative”. Furnished with examples from the natural world, we can agree wholeheartedly with the conclusion of one of the scientists, “We must go where the scientific evidence leads”.
